I'm a pilgrim with a Nikon. My work is of the documentary 'genre' and I capture moments in time that I find interesting. I'd invite you to view additional images @ www.garyrhodesphotography.com

Watching Barack Obama on You-Tube, recalling a conversation with a friend (who volunteered his views on the candidates, based upon their positions on abortion), ingesting all available info on current state of our economic crisis, I'm touched by the 'Spirit', and reminded that this government has sanctioned the 'elimination' (infanticide) of over 40k unborn, since 1976. How long will Yahweh/God shower our country with Blessings and Grace, though we continue to legitimize our heinous acts. If one were to believe that this is the greatest country in the world, and that it has achieved such status with God's help, than please consider the consequence of God removing His Hand from us...

Senator McCain is 72 years old. Sometimes it takes that long to forge the 'case hardened' steel that he is... Is Barack Obama a visionary? Sarah Palin can handle the VP post. She can probably handle just about anything. Obama screwed up when he choose Joe Biden, over Hillary. As my Dads always says, hindsight is 20-20 vision. But alas, lest we forget, God, Yahovah, is in control!

I think Sarah Paylin will do a lot for America's International image. I see her as a roving, good will ambassador, restoring and healing diplomatic relations with us and the world. A dynamic, progressive who comes to mind is French President, Sarkosi (sp?). It seems rather obvious that Paylin has become the media's focal point these last few weeks. Rush thinks that Joe B. will excuse himself and leave the stage in October. Isn't that absurd? Peter Boyle's, Denvers A.M. Radio shock jock referred to the Clintons as 'grifters'...? I think it's some sort of scam artist..., don't know. I shot soccer games Saturday and Tuesday. Way cool... look forward to more. Shalom, Gary

Sarah Palin sure has stolen Barack Obama's thunder. She's all over the place... and even her critics can't seem to take their eyes off of her , which keeps her in the spotlight. I've grown weary of presidential campaigning, and presidential candidates, who attempt to sell us on their pie in the sky solutions to all the problems that currently besiege us. Old boy once told me, "solve those 6 problems, and there's 6 more right behind them..." Following the 7th year anniversary of 9/11, I can't help but think of President Bush, and how as a result of his unpopular policies and persona, we have, as a nation been kept safe from terrorist attacks. And how, Al Quida is quickly loosing its potency and has become an internationally hated organization, even amongst Muslim's. Yet, President Bush continues to be the brunt of distasteful humor, and the target of the liberal media's barbs. I pray that history treats him better than did the generation that he preserved and protected.

Having just watched the Republican National Convention, I'm taken by the fact that Republicans are an older crowd. The Democrats that flocked to Denver last week appeared to have a lower median age...? Following Joe Lieberman's adulating speech, I looked for the Rick Warren interview of the two candidates on the internet. During this interview Rick Warren asked both if they thought an unborn is entitled to protection under the law. Barack Obama made an off the cuff remark, saying that this was above his pay grade...? And , he further elucidated on the fact that there are those that believe life begins at conception and those that don't. He never stated his position, probably wisely. When John McCain was asked the same question, he fired his answer, "at conception..." That sealed it for me
