With Liephiemer winning the stage and the yellow leaders jersey. Atmosphere was charged at the finish line, with hundreds of enthusiastic fans cheering the riders on.

US Pro Cycling Challenge-stage 2

The US Pro Cycling Challenge finished Stage 2 this afternoon in Aspen, with George Hincapie (USA), Team BMC winning in a sprint finish in the town of Aspen. The day was not without mishap as twelve riders went down leaving Gunnison. One rider in particular suffered two broken hands, and missing teeth. Touted to be the biggest sporting event ever to hit Colorado, and certainly the biggest cycling race ever held in the USA, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge held a press conference today in Golorado Springs. In attendance were Governor Hickenlooper, Colorado Springs Mayor, race organizers, and the winners of this years Tour of France, Cadel Evans, and Andy and Frank Schleck, together with Ivan Basso, Christian Vander Weld, and Boulders own Tom Danielson.
